TAKT
TAKT Controls
There are just 3 buttons and two LED lights. When off, any button pressed briefly will start the unit at the beat rate previously used. The buttons are soft touch - no large pressure is needed.
To slow the beat rate press the button below the red LED. It may be held down to give progressive speed reduction.
To speed the beat rate up press the button below the green LED. It may be held pressed for repeated action.
To stop the unit at once, press the top button briefly. If not stopped by the top button, TAKT will auto-stop itself after about 2 minutes from the most recent button push.
Very occasionally, previous editions of TAKT may stop with an LED still on. This is believed cured. If seen just use the top button to correct this by start and stop.
Service and Battery Replacement
The unit has a 2032 battery, which is accessed by removing the centre part of the back. Using the 3 small holes in this door, rotate it by 60 degrees (a sixth of a turn). It will then come out to allow battery replacement. TAKT is protected against battery reverse voltage.
Ensure battery is correctly installed and refit the door. One of the 3 holes in the door will mate with the bump on the back.
Note this product is not waterproof. In the event of it getting in contact with water, allow it lots of time to dry before operating. The battery should last a long time: many months if used for 30 minutes per day.
If at a button press, while a LED lights up, yet no beat is generated, then battery needs replacement. There is slight reduction in the volume of the beat during the battery life. This product is not advised for individuals with pacemakers, please use at your own risk.
Any worries, then send the unit, along with £10 and your address. You can still send it if you start the replacement and then decide to send the parts (unbroken).
Options
Note that the pins that hold the strap in place are standard 18mm. I find that a metal bracelet which expands to pass over the hand and then closes to a smaller girth of the wrist is appropriate for Parkinson's, but it does require the metal links to be removed in accord.
There could also be a pendant version of the case if the interest is forthcoming.
Also, the unit is immune to 15 kVolt static injection and emits 100 times less radio frequency energy than allowed. But despite this, you use it at your own risk. It is no more dangerous than listening to Big Ben, but if you wear a pacemaker or depend upon other electronic device, then please do not use TAKT.
